Özlem/Longing Remembering laughter

Sound Installation.

There is so much we miss when we have to leave a place behind. And this “missing” becomes so much stronger when we cannot get back it at all. It grows into a deep longing which cannot be put into words but can only be experienced through body and soul mourning together. Juxtaposing this is the joy that goes through ones being when remembering good times which were lived in freedom of care of the world as children. Kanay’s sound installation captures “a moment in time” from both of these strong feelings and creates a sense of place lost physically but which has its poignant eternal place very much intact emotionally. The interchangeable continuous play further emphasizes the timelessness of these experiences.
